IT industry is often thought to be a field for programmers and technical people. But nothing more wrong! Tech positions are just the tip of the iceberg. There is a place for everyone in the IT industry!
The most profitable sector needs additional forces such as IT Recruiters, Business and Project Managers, Scrum Master etc. In these positions, basic technical knowledge is important but not required. You don’t have to be a “tech geek” to find an exciting and fulfilling role in IT!
- Sitting all day in front of a computer is not for you? But you love to work with people, talk and listen to them? You may be perfect candidate for the HR department! But here, you have to have good understanding of technology and technical skills, or if you do not have, show willingness to learn.
- You like negotiations and sales - you'll find a position for yourself in every tech product company! It is important to know the product well, how it works and what benefits it provides to users.
- You have leadership skills and you like working on detailed projects - consider a role as a project manager or business analyst.
After all, basic knowledge about the IT industry is necessary if you want to work in it. Many companies organize introductory training to provide new employees with the knowledge they need. However, it will definitely be an advantage during the recruitment process if you demonstrate knowledge of technical terminology. ☺

There is some “must have” to start with:
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Acquainted with several programming languages - to get to know which one will be the best for you.
- Choose one technology in which you feel the best and develop yourself!

The key knowledge is the ability to distinguish between programming languages and their applications. If you don’t exactly know which language choose, you can check a ranking of the top programming languages.
Back to the beginning - don’t give up!
- Learning programming is difficult because there are a lot of topics to learn - not because you’re not smart enough!
- You have to accept that sometimes a new topic will make no sense to you.
- But don’t skip it, just try to figure it out -you can do it!
Nobody became a programmer in one month!
